The Heat increased a bit when Indiana Fever and the Washington Mystic faced each other in the first preseason game of the year on Saturday.
At one point, Cunningham went up to a defensive rebound about Mystics’s rookie, Kiki Iriafen. The veteran guard was thrown to the ground and got into the face of the former USC outstanding. Lexie Hull had to intervene between the two players.

Mystics Guard, Morgan Jones, put his arm around Iriafen when the 6 feet 3 moved away from Cunningham and smiled. Iriafen was beaten with a flagrant foul 1.
It was not the only incident during the game.
Brittney Sykes was also in the hands of Cunningham while trying to be available for a Pass Dewanna Bonner. Sykes pushed Cunningham to the ground and found Bonner’s intensity.

“Sophie is a Dawg,” said fever chief coach Stephanie White, through Indy Star. “She is a competitor. She is versatile. It allows us to do different things. He plays with such hardness. It is huge and will be for us throughout the season.
“What it brings, from the point of view of energy, raises everyone’s level of play around it as soon as the floor, hell, even outside. I mean, its communication, everything is definitely a factor X”.
Indiana won the game 79-74 in extra time.
The mystics made have had one of the worst records in the WNBA last season, but made it clear in the preseason that would not be pushed by any team.

The Washington season begins on May 16 against Atlanta’s dream.
Indiana’s season begins on May 17 against the sky of Chicago.
