LAHORE:
Bodies of two more Pakistani citizens, who died in a migrant boat that cap in the eastern coast of Libya at night between April 12 and 13, arrived at Lahore airport on Sunday.
The tragedy is the last of a series of similar incidents in recent years, where hundreds of Pakistani have lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean while trying to reach Europe through Africa.
The victims were identified as Sufyan and Nadeem Ahmed, both residents of Gujranwala. The Minister of Public Affairs of State, Rana Mashir Hussain, and the member of the Punjab Assembly, Imran Javed, received the bodies at the airport.
The remains were later delivered to the afflicted families. Prayers were also offered for deceased souls.
Minister Hussain expressed a deep sadness and sincere condolence extended to the afflicted families. Meanwhile, the FIA area, Gujranwala, has launched at least three separate consultations on the incident.
The FIA launched a massive repression against smuggers and human traffickers after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif realized boats of boat overturning near Greece in November last year in which illegal Pakistani immigrants were among the people who lost their lives.
