The Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has examined the impact of tensions between India and Pakistan in the region, Tolo News reported.
The first political director of the Ministry, during a session entitled “Evaluation of the impact of tensions between India and Pakistan in the region”, declared that regional countries, particularly Afghanistan, have been affected by the tense relations between Islamabad and New Delhi.
The participants in the session emphasized that Afghanistan does not support a war between India and Pakistan and warned about the negative consequences of increasing tensions between the two countries for Afghanistan. Zia Ahmad Takal, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited the deputy of the Center for Strategic Studies saying that due to the geographical proximity of Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, the intensification of tensions could have direct negative effects in the region and Afghanistan.
He added that the first political director pointed out how the attack against tourists in Kashmiro had exacerbated long -standing hostilities, with reciprocal actions of both countries, such as the closure of the Wagah border, already affecting the region and especially Afghanistan.
Ghulam Mohammaduddin Muhammadi, a political analyst, declared: “Afghanistan’s relations with India have demonstrated significantly, and we hope that these ties are even more strengthened to help address other Afghan challenges. Pakistan is also our neighbor, and Afghanistan seeks good relations with them too.”
The participants also pointed out that the Islamic Emirate is prepared for potential developments and emphasized that, under their balanced and economy centered foreign policy, Kabul prefers a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
