According to reports, Washington commanders will organize the NFL 2027 draft in Washington, DC, while the organization prepares to build a new stadium in the capital of the nation.
President Donald Trump is expected to make the announcement on Monday, according to multiple reports.

The owner of the Commanders team, Josh Harris, had thought about taking the draft to the National Shopping Center at least once in the coming years. He revealed his dream in August while working to secure the old RFK stadium site as the new home of the team.
“Think about the idea of having, and I am not giving news here, it has not yet done, but think of a draft in the mall and how exciting it would be, for the city of Washington, for the NFL,” Harris said at that time. “Everyone see that, and obviously has a lot of complexity with the parks’ service … but I think it will happen, and it is a matter of when.”
It seems that the dream is closer to reality.

The draft was held in Green Bay last week. The smallest NFL market organized more than 600,000 fans during the three days.
The draft was, at one time, a permanent element in Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The event was held everything in one day. Pittsburgh will organize it in 2026.
