- Nintendo has updated Switch Eshop’s discovery ability to filter cheap games, “Shovelware”
- ESHOP graphics have been reworked to show how sales are calculated, classifying games based on sales revenues in the last 72 hours in their place
- The Best Sellers tab now shows games “with the highest sales during the last three days”
Nintendo has silently updated the Nintendo Switch Eshop and how the graphics work when filtering cheap games and “Slop”.
This change comes from the most recent switch update update in preparation for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 next month, but was overlooked due to the other significant features of the patch.
As seen by VGC, ESHOP graphics have been reworked to show how sales are calculated. Before the update, the digital store counted the number of games sold in the last 48 hours and classified them in the lists, but now classifies the games based on sales income in the last 72 hours.
In addition, before the update, the Best Sellers tab showed software titles “with the largest amount of downloads during the last two weeks”, but now shows games “with the highest sales during the last three days” (through GVG).
Nintendo has essentially altered how discovering in ESHOP works, even in the current offers tab, carrying its best -selling software at the forefront and filtering “Shovelware” games that were obstructing the store.
This change also means that the cheap games that are agitated will not automatically reach the top of the lists due to their low prices, prioritizing larger and more popular titles.
However, it seems that finding new independent games will be a bit more difficult. The store discover tab mainly offers Nintendo titles first part, while other tabs have been selected to what is popular, such as full -price AAA games and what is most sold.
In case it has been lost, the Nintendo Switch 2 is launched on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for the Mario de Mario Kart bunch.
The early orders of the United Kingdom and the early orders of the United States are now live.
