The epicenter was located 34 kilometers west of Ashkāsham, Afghanistan, at a depth of 233.7 kilometers below the Kush Hindu mountains.

Due to the depth of the earthquake, its impact on the surface was limited.

No victims or property damage were reported in Pakistan, although residents in areas such as Chitral, Upper Dir and nearby valleys experienced a slight movement.

The region falls within an active seismic zone where deep earthquakes are common, they often result in broad but soft tremors.

The northwest land of Pakistan, which is located near the tectonic collision zone, regularly experiences such seismic events.
