Pakistan and India formally agreed to high the fire after days of high tensions, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, confirmed on Saturday night.

Dar, an experienced politician, said that Pakistan had always been open to a high fire, but made it clear that any future aggression of India would meet a firm response.
He extended gratitude to all countries that played a role in the Slip of Alto El Fuego, especially recognizing the efforts of the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
Giving added that diplomatic efforts had been ongoing throughout the day, which finally led to the agreement today. “Pakistan has always worked for regional peace without compromising his sovereignty,” he said.
On the Indian side, Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, also confirmed Alto El Fuego, the Indian media reported. He said that all military actions would be suspended and that the General Directors of Military Operations (DGMO) on both sides would hold conversations on May 12.
