The Houston Astros pitcher Lance Mcullers Jr. said that fans of his team have become in the worst way.
After a difficult start on Saturday, where it allowed seven races won in just one third of an entry released against the Cincinnati Reds, McCullers said he received death threats from fans of the online stars.
“I understand that people are very passionate and people love stars and sports love, but threatening to find my children and kill them is a bit difficult to treat,” said the 31 -year -old right. “So, like a father, I think there have been many, many threats throughout the years that maintained me mainly, and I think that in reality one or two people of other issues around baseball had to go to jail for things like that.

“But I think that bringing children to the equation, threatening to find them or the next time they see us in public, they will stab my children to death, things like that, it is difficult to listen as a father.”
The Houston Police Department and MLB’s security have been alerted to threats against McCullers, the organization said.
This was only the second beginning of McCullers for the stars since the 2022 World Series, since he has been fighting through several injuries in the last two seasons.

He was disastrous from the beginning when Elly de la Cruz hit a three -run homer after Mcullers walked to TJ Friedl and hit Matt McLain with a release to start the game. McCullers obtained an exit after the homer, but two more walks and two hits after that quickly turned the game into a 5-0 advantage.
Manager Joe Espada had to plug McCullers, but the second and third base corridors remained his responsibility. They found themselves later in the first entrance of 10 races for Cincinnati.

Sword also talked about death threats against his veteran holder.
“There are people who threaten their lives and the lives of their children due to their performance,” Espada explained. “It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with this. After all, he has done for this city, for his team, the fact that we have to talk about that in my office: I also have children, and it really drives me crazy that we have to deal with this. Very sad, very, very sad.”
McCullers is a two -time World Series champion who tries to find consistency in the mound once again. His injury problems began in spring training in 2023, when a muscular tension in his launch arm closed it. Then, in June of that year, he underwent surgery that ended the season to repair a flexor tendon in the arm and eliminate a bone spur.
McCullers rehabilitation was not as planned either. In July 2024, he closed to launch and it was announced that the whole season would be lost. Finally, he would recover his chance on the mound on May 4, where he threw three goals against the Chicago White Sox.

“If you fail, failures in a very large stage (with) many eyes and there is no place to hide,” McCullers added. “At the end of the day, I just want to do my job. I just want to be a good pitcher for the stars, and I think I will get there. But, as I said, I only think that having to worry about that, worrying about leaving the city and leaving them and leaving them at school, I just think … there should be some kind of decency.”
McCullers, who made the All-Star team in 2017, has an effectiveness of 3.55 with the stars, even after its approach on Saturday. It also has an effectiveness of 3.47 in 19 postseason games, all with Houston.
