Peshawar:
On the second anniversary of the arrest of the founding president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), the party workers celebrated a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club on Sunday.
The protest was attended by Mna Shandana Gulzar, former vice president Mahmood Jan, Sheer Ali Arbab, Irfan Salem, Faisal Javed, Sheer Ali Afridi, Asif Khan, Kamran Bangash, Sami Khan, Ali Zaman and Fazal Ilahi, who directed the participants.
In their speeches, the speakers condemned the arrest of the founding president, stating that he had been arrested without any crime or position. They stressed that although the courts have granted the bond, the cases without foundation are still being presented against it.
In addition, they pointed out that in an attempt to exert pressure on the founding president, his wife, Bushra Bibi, was also arrested.
The speakers emphasized that while the founding president and his wife face unfair legal battles, they are also denied the right to meet with him.
Despite the judicial orders, the authorities continue to obstruct visits to the arrested leader.
The executive director of the province, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has also been forbidden to meet with the founding president.
The speakers criticized the efforts of the current government to reduce the popularity of the founder of PTI, emphasizing that it remains one of the most popular leaders in the country today.
In addition, they noticed that if the founding president had been outside, he would have become a powerful voice against Indian aggression.
They praised Pakistan’s army for his strong response to the hostility of India, stating that India’s erroneous concept about Pakistan’s attack has been decisively crushed.
In support of the country, the protesters expressed their solidarity with the country’s armed forces.
