Microsoft has alluded to an upcoming feature for equipment designed to prevent users from taking unjustified screenshots during calls in an attempt to protect the company’s confidential information.
A new addition to the Redmond roadmap adds better meetings protection to the equipment, which according to Microsoft will prevent screen capture. Added last week, he is on the way to implement since July 2025.
The function will be available in the versions of desktop customers in Windows and Mac, as well as in iOS and Android applications, which makes it virtually impossible for users to take fragments of potentially confidential information.

“To address the problem of unauthorized screenshots during meetings, the Prevent screen capture function ensures that if a user tries to take a screenshot, the meeting window will become black, thus protecting the confidential information,” Microsoft explained.
Although the most common platforms are admitted, users who bind to a call of equipment with improved meetings enabled will be limited to only audio to avoid exposure to content.
Because the road map entry only shares basic details on the next function, it is not clear if it will be enabled by default or alternating through administration controls.
With the hope that improved protections provide companies with access to safer videoconferences, the company will also implement its new team migration tool in July.
“Customers can now move the content without problems of public and private channels in a third -party solution to the standard teams of the equipment,” says the route entrance.
The improved meetings protection is currently in the ‘in development’ stage: the first of three, previous ‘launched’ and ‘implementation’. Microsoft does not share details about how far it is throughout the development trip and if it is on the way to the planned launch of July.
However, although the characteristic can be welcomed by many, it still leaves a considerable gap and, in many cases, does nothing to protect confidential data on the screens: there is no system to prevent users from taking photos of their screens with their smartphones, and such a tool would be almost impossible to implement.
