Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) MNA and president of the party for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar, has resigned from his position as president of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Akbar said he had delivered his resignation to PTI’s president, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, saying that the position was a confidence given by the party and that he was renouncing according to his instructions. He said that any decision made by the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, would be accepted by him.

Meanwhile, the sister of the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, Aleema Khan, in a conversation with Geographical newsHe shared that his sisters had met the founder of PTI in recent days.

According to her, they had received a message about Akbar’s resignation, which was transmitted to the Secretary General of PTI SALMAN AKRAM RAJA and the Senior leader Omar Ayub.

Speaking to journalists outside the House of Parliament, lawyer Gohar said he had been informed by PTI’s founder’s sister the previous night about the directive on Akbar.

He described the situation as an internal issue of the party, adding that every time a directive comes from the founder of the party, it follows. He expressed confidence that the problem would be solved soon according to those instructions.

The background discussions within the party confirmed that Imran Khan had ordered Akbar to renounce his PAC position and concentrated only on party affairs, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The experts suggested that Akbar’s double role was seen as a restriction, and the founder of the party wanted it to focus more on organizational responsibilities.

Akbar had been elected without opposition as president of PAC in January and was appointed the president of the Provincial Party, replacing Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. It is speculated that Omar Ayub can be appointed as the next president of PAC.
