Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated a telephone conversation on Wednesday with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed al Nahyan, discussing regional stability and bilateral ties after the stop the fire with India.
According to a press release issued by Prime Minister’s office on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed sincere gratitude to the EAU for their diplomatic efforts to help reduce the recent crisis in southern Asia. He praised the constructive role of the EAU in the promotion of peace in the region.
“The United Arab Emirates have always supported Pakistan,” said Prime Minister, reaffirming that Pakistan is still committed to peace in southern Asia. “It is in this spirit that we agreed to an understanding of high fire with India,” he added.

While renewing Pakistan’s resolution to maintain an environment of understanding, PM made it clear that the country would defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
He also stressed that Pakistan would never allow the swing of the Indo waters to be challenged, reiterating its importance as a binding agreement.
The prime minister pointed out the warm and fraternal ties between Pakistan and the EAU, saying that bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of economy and investment, has improved significantly during the past year. He reaffirmed his commitment to transform the relationship into a mutually beneficial economic association.

In response, the president of Nahyan appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and welcomed the understanding of high fire with India. He reaffirmed the support of the EAU to peace and stability in southern Asia.
On May 10, in a televised speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz acknowledged the Arab Emirates united by their contributions to deactivate the tensions and play a role in the high fire with India, which was negotiated after the intervention of US President Trump.
India had also addressed the Sheikh Zayed International Airport in the Punjab province of the Rahim Yar Khan district, an installation widely considered as a symbol of Pakistan-Uae’s friendship.
Pakistan, the EAU sign multiple agreements to increase bilateral ties
Last month, Pakistan and the EAU signed a series of comprehension memorandes aimed at improving bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including culture, trade and consular issues.
The VicePrimer Minister Ishaq Dar and the EAU, the Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, signed two mous: one to promote cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the EAU and the Pakistan culture division, and another for the establishment of a joint committee on consular matters.

In addition, both leaders witnessed the exchange of a MOU between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the EAU and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Pakistan Federation.
The agreement establishes the Joint Business Council of the EAU-PAKISTÁN, whose objective is to improve commercial and investment relations.
