- Fujifilm makes fun of his next X series camera with the May 22 announcement
- ‘Half the size, twice the story’ Slogan suggests a half -frame camera ‘Half’
- A secondary film view view could present a tactile control
Now we know the exact time and date of the next camera of the Fujifilm X series, following another shared teaser on the Fujifilm YouTube channel (see below), and there is not much to wait for the rumored compact of half frame.
The video says ‘see you soon’, and the video legend explains an advertisement of May 22, 2025 (at 1 am et / 6am bst / 3pm aest, that is May 21 at 10pm PT).
After having followed the rumors of the supposed half X for some time, I cannot wait until next week; Some curious characteristics that sound like very funny have been leaked.
The main one of those rumors, and one that Fujifilm has caused, is an exhibition of prior view of secondary film (you can see the movie ‘provides’ in the image above), which according to the rumors of Fuji could have a touch function, which means that it could slide to change the simulation of film, ordered.
But that is not even the funniest feature that was rumored for the midfielder, that Fujifilm is invoicing as offering “half the size, twice the story.” Another rumored feature that caught my attention is one that will surely attract fans of analog photography.
Roll with him

Attend
As we report previously, there are suggestions that half X will be a modern version of the midfield format, as appears in recent analog cameras such as Pentax 17 and Kodak Ektar H35.
The framework traditionally refers to an analog camera that captures two vertical exhibitions in a single frame of the 35 mm film, which allows it to obtain twice as many images of a roll, this has the ‘half the size, twice the story’ in the teaser.
It is not clear how Fujifilm will achieve half a frame in its next camera, but there are suggestions that half X will include a 1 -inch sensor that will capture two vertical images such as a diptych, in addition to a vertical rear LCD screen to help the user compose those images.
We can also see a circular viewfinder within the camera silhouette in the Fujifilm teaser, in addition to a vintage design that includes a manual exposure dial, a family recipe for Fujifilm.
It could also be a compact camera with fixed lens of 28 mm f/2.8 (equivalent), that is one of the 5 rumored characteristics on which I have written. However, it is another possible feature that has really aroused my interest: a film mode.
Fuji’s rumors suggest that with the active film roll mode, the user will be blocked in the movie simulation and the configuration was selected for a certain number of images, equivalent to filming with a particular film roll. Traditionally, that would be 24 or 36 photos, but the half frame doubles that image count.
It could also be that the user cannot see the previous views of the images they take when it is in film roller mode until the ‘roll’ is exhausted. I think the idea in such a way sounds as wonderful as crazy, and I hope the rumor is true.
The responses to the various rumors of half X suggest that there is a sensation among Fujifilm fans that the next camera is one of the most experimental of Fujifilm. If you receive well, some of its characteristics could reach the future cameras of the X series.
Everything would be for the strange and crazy: I enjoy Fujifilm’s cameras more when they break the norm, such as the device relationship dedicated in the GFX100RF. So mark your calendars for May 22. I have already done it.
