A women’s university basketball coach was arrested last week for alleged drunk driving after the police said he was found parked in his front courtyard and smelled of alcohol.

Kevin McGuff, Ohio State chief coach, took more than two minutes to open the driver’s door or window before rejecting an breathalyzer and deny that he had been drinking or taken medications that could result in a deterioration, according to a police report obtained by Columbus’s office.

McGuff was asked to recite the alphabet of the letters d a r, an order that gave him three times, but said nothing after D, according to the police.

McGuff was inside a Toyota Sequoia 2013. Shortly before the arrest of McGuff for the position of operating a vehicle while affected (OVI), a spectator called the police to inform someone in a Toyota Sequoia 2013 that drives recklessly. According to the office, that driver had hit several curbs and had traveled through a patio, said the person he called.

The coach told the police, 13 seconds after he asked him, that he had been in a restaurant. When asked what he had eaten, he said: “Cena,” according to the report.
