Islamabad:
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf, Barrimer, Gohar Ali Khan, has said that he accepted the government’s offer for political dialogue in his capacity as president of the party, but categorically ruled out the possibility of any agreement.
In statements to the media outside the House of Parliament, the lawyer Gohar said that PTI has always kept the doors of the negotiations open. He pointed out that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a dialogue offer on the floor of the house, which he accepted as president of PTI.
“I assured the government that I would transmit the message to the founder and leadership of the PTI party,” Gohar said.
However, he refused to share any detail of his meeting with the founder of PTI Imran Khan regarding the offer, qualifying him as an internal party issue.
He stressed that Imran Khan would not be part of any agreement with the government.
Answering a question about the recent appearance of the media of the children of Imran Khan, Gohar said he was happy with his interview, pointing out that they had worthy decently that their father was not willing to commit.
He added that the founder of PTI never instructed his children or leaders of the party to continue any agreement for his release from prison. He said he does not share issues related to PTI’s founder with anyone.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khanum, categorically denied reports that suggested PTI’s will to hold conversations with the government. She said she had no idea where the news came from.
“When we asked the founder of PTI in this regard, he dismissed the claim,” said Aleema, stating that the PML-N had stolen the public mandate and formed the government. “What is there to argue with those who stole the mandate?” She questioned.
Aleem also said that Imran is imprisoned in the Adiala prison of Punjab and that all cases against him are being persecuted in the same province. She said that amendment 26 was introduced specifically to deny justice.
“They told me in Peshawar that Shehbaz Sharif had maintained conversations with Imran Khan. I was surprised to learn it. Later, it was learned that Shehbaz had spoken to Barríster Gohar,” said Aleema.
She said that there is only one president of PTI and that it is Imran Khan, who gives all the directives on the affairs of the party, and added that the lawyer Gohar received the publication of the president only to transmit messages.
In addition, the leader of PTI, Naeem Haider, Panjutha, also refuted reports of the PTI agreement with the Government, saying that such reports are intended to ensure high grades. The founder of PTI takes people in confidence before taking a step and does not make offers behind closed doors, Panjutha said.
