NJ Transit engineers began their strike during the night on Friday morning, affecting hundreds of thousands of travelers.
While the number of travelers decreases on a typical Friday after pandemic, there are two huge sporting events in New York on Friday night that a large part of the attendees will need to find an alternative route.
On Friday the subway series began between the New York Yankees and the Mets in the Bronx, and it is not uncommon for New Jersey residents to take the train to the Penn station.

From there, fans can take the subway, since trains B, D and 4 stop at E 161st Street – Yankee Stadium.
The Bronx stadium can contain more than 52,000 fans, including the footing room, and with the rivalry between the city, the number of fans will undoubtedly approach that number. However, some brave souls will now have to choose to be a designated driver.
However, leading to Bronx is certainly not the worst option.

Perhaps the much harder trip on Friday night will now be for Madison Square Garden for game 6 between the Knicks and Boston Celtics.

It is estimated that almost 270 million passengers take NJ transit annually.
