Prominent doctor killed in an objective attack at the Sargodha hospital

The renowned doctor, Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Mahmood, was shot dead on Friday within the Fatima de Sargodha hospital in what seems to be an objective attack. He was 58 years old.

Dr. Mahmood, a general practitioner and specialist in gastroenterology that belongs to the community of Ahmadiyya, is survived by his mother, his wife, two daughters and two sons. He remained associated with several private and charitable health institutions, more recently offering services at the Fatima Hospital under a well -being initiative.

According to police reports, the armed man arrived at the hospital dressed in the uniform of the “Clean Punjab” personnel, bought a check -up and waited inside the hospital.

As soon as Dr. Mahmood left his office, the attacker opened fire with a gun, shooting him on the back and abdomen, critically damaging his internal organs. He was urgently taken to the District headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. The attacker fled the scene after the fatal shooting.

CCTV images show the doctor who is injured on the hospital floor while the staff, visibly entered and distressed, struggling to ask for an ambulance.

Sargodha Dpo Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf, together with the INVESTMENT OF SP and the SP headquarters, arrived on the scene when the police launched an investigation into the incident. The authorities have committed that the author will be arrested soon.
