Indy 500 Practice: Kyffin Simpson goes in the air in a crash

Indycar’s pilot, Kyffin Simpson, was involved in a terrifying accident during the practice of Indianapolis 500 on Friday.

Simpson turned the final turn and headed towards the front stretch when the back of his vehicle moved, and lost control. Simpson hit his left front on the wall and air came out for a few moments before he went down again. He did not turn.

The pieces and debris spread through the track, since the practice was briefly suspended before it began again.

“I’m fine, praised to the Lord,” Simpson told Fox Sports after they reviewed him at the Emergency Care Center. “It is a difficult way to start quickly on Friday. Just a strange shock. Everything was strange.

“Even from the back, something really felt good. I kept moving forward in weight Jacher and trying to help the car. I never felt as I expected.

The Caymania pilot has competed for the Gnssi Chip races in the Indycar series since 2023. He has still to win an Indycar race.

He had the best end of his career at the Long Beach Grand Prix earlier this season. Ended in the tenth.

INDY 500 will be broadcast on May 25 in Fox with pre-collery from 10 am et. It will also be available to broadcast live on FoxSports.com and the Fox Sports application.
