- The AUO manufacturer suggests aviation uses, retail and internal trade for dual exhibition
Transparent screens on devices such as smartphones and tablets have long been a basic element of science fiction movies and television programs because they look good, even if they are not always practical. Now, however, they are beginning to become a reality.
The Taiwanese exhibition manufacturer AUO (AU Optronics Corporation), which was formed in 2001 through the fusion of Acer screen technology and the UNIPAC optolectronic corporation, has demonstrated a transparent micro LED screen of double luicity in Touch Touch Taiwan 2025.
This first screen of its type is a thin 17.3 -inch screen that offers a transparent experience on both sides, and can present a different content according to the visualization angle.
For use in airplanes and houses and shops
The screen can show separate images or data on each side, and AUO suggests that a possible case of use would be in the cabins of the first class airline, where passengers and flight attendees can see their own interfaces.
AUO demonstration included a translation interface, presenting perfect multilingual communication through the screen itself. Commercial scenarios such as store windows, museum exhibitions and digital signage are also considered natural adjustments for technology.
Ultrafine design, combined with transparent micro LED technology, represents a change in the traditional use of visualization towards something closer to environmental computer science.
Unlike the transparent OLEDs of a single side, who often fight with the brightness and clarity of the image in direct light, Auo micro LED technology offers greater brightness and color performance, which can overcome many of those limitations.
Auo has not revealed when he hopes that the exhibition between production, nor has given any clue about prices, although it is fair to say that the screens will not be cheap.
A video posted on YouTube shows the screen in use in the 50 -second brand.
