The general director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that Pakistani are “celebrating peace, not victory”, which reflects the humility and preference of the nation for stability, since it reaffirmed the unwaled resolution and force of the country to protect its entangled sovereigns from regional tensions.
In an exclusive interview with CGTV, he emphasized the country’s commitment while condemning the unfounded aggression and false accusations of India.
Answering the questions about the possibility of growing the conflict after the Pahalgam incident, Lieutenant General Chaudhry said that Pakistan is based first with Allah and then on ourselves.
The tension between Pakistan and India began with an attack in Pahalgam on April 22, killing 26 people, which India blamed Pakistan without public evidence.
In retaliation, India suspended the Treaty of the Indo waters, closed the border with Wagah-Attari and took diplomatic measures.
Pakistan responded with reciprocal actions, including trade arrest and the closure of airspace. Tensions intensified even more with missile attacks, which led to air combat and drone attacks.
On May 11, the fire was announced after diplomatic efforts, with Pakistan accrediting the United States, China and the Gulf States, while India said that the truce resulted from bilateral conversations.
He stressed that the unwavering determination and strength of Pakistan have been repeatedly demonstrated, and the international community is also expected to play its role in the maintenance of regional peace.
The ISPR chief criticized the ongoing aggression and false accusations against Pakistan, noting that mature nations focus on addressing global challenges such as climate change, erroneous information and overpopulation, instead of imposing domain through attacks without problems.
“We have never leaned before, and we will never do it,” he said, adding that for the armed forces of Pakistan, the desire for martyrdom is greater than life.
In the Association of Pakistan with China, Lieutenant General Chaudhry highlighted the shared commitment of both countries with peace, stability and economic development. He pointed out the importance of fighting terrorism as a common threat to progress and praised China’s rapid development as a global model.
When addressing internal security concerns, especially attacks against Chinese engineers involved in development projects, the ISPR head described the national power of Pakistan as an “iron wall” composed of people, the armed forces, the diplomatic corps, the media and young people, all united against terrorism.
He expressed the confidence that Pakistan will continue to advance towards development and stability.
“Simply observe how this country will now advance quickly towards the destination of development, Inshaallah,” concluded Lieutenant General Chaudhry.
He added that Pakistan shared China’s vision for regional peace and prosperity, praising Beijing’s rapid development as a global model.
“China is a mature and responsible player,” said Gen Sharif, adding that his unprecedented progress in modern history, especially to raise a vast population of poverty, becomes a remarkable example for the world to witness.
He stressed that the state and people of Pakistan also aspire to follow a similar path. “We also want to move towards development and stability,” he said. “We owe it to the people of Pakistan, our future generations. That is why our preference is always peace.”
When reflecting on the national feeling, the army spokesman said that the Pakistani “are celebrating peace, not victory.”
“There is humility in our people. We are with our feet on the ground and we thank Allah,” he said.
