The Fisherman Association of the Costa de Maine praised Jordon Hudson for his defense during the Miss Maine USA contest earlier this month.
Support for Maine’s fishermen seemed to be close to Hudson’s heart. She has defended her cause, not only in the contest, but also thanked Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, and the Trump administration for her renegotiation of the financing of the subsidy of the Mar de Maine.

“To advocate the commercial fisherman of Maine takes many forms, and sometimes walk through a stage with heels with a bikini,” wrote the Maine coast fishing association in its Instagram stories on Monday. “Jordon Hudson is helping to highlight Maine’s fishing communities in a way that we never imagine, from the stage to the work coast.
“We are grateful for voices like Jordon who remind us of the defense does not always look the same, but it always matters. Together, we persevere.”
Hudson was asked during the Miss Maine contest uses a moment in the life I would like to return. She said she wanted to be transported back to her family’s fishing boat.

“I think of this often because there is a massive exodus for fishermen who occur in Rural areas of Maine, and I don’t want to see that more fishermen leave this place,” he said, through Mass Live. “As his next Miss Maine USA, I would like to go to the communities … to go to the government and advocate these people so they don’t have to think about these memories as a past moment.”
Hudson’s parents had a fishing business, Frenchman’s Bay Fisheries, in Maine. However, after the area they used to fish, Taunton Bay, was closed to fishing by the State in 2000, his business finally declared himself bankrupt years later.
According to reports, his family’s ship suffered damage and could not afford repairs. The family tried to pressure state and local legislatures to relieve regulations that prevented the fishing industry and, finally, the closure of their businesses.

The family finally moved to Massachusetts.
