The head boat

The Knicks had up to 2-0 over the Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs in 1993, when the Tempers burst in the third quarter. The star guard of the Knicks, John Starks, after scoring, headed to Reggie Miller.

The garbage conversation culminated with Starks Miller. Starks was quickly expelled from the game. The Pacers won that game 3, but the Knicks won game 4 and the series.

However, the base of bitterness between the teams was placed with the blow of the head.

The gesture of the strangulator

In 1994, the two teams met again, this time at the Eastern Conference finals. The Knicks sought to take a 3-2 advantage in game 5 and climbed 70-58 in the third quarter.

However, Miller dominated the fourth quarter, where he scored 25 of his 39 points. Throughout the last quarter, Miller was going and coming with Knicks Superfan Spike Lee.

Miller mocked Lee making a strangulator gesture now infamous. The Pacers won that game 5 behind the strong performance of Millers, but lost the next two games, and the Knicks won the series in seven games and went to the NBA finals.

The unlikely return

For the third consecutive year, the Pacers and the Knicks met at the playoffs in 1995, this time in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference.

Miller, who had been in the heart of rivalry, wrote one of the most incredulous returns in the history of the NBA playoffs.

The Knicks uploaded 105-99 with 16 seconds in the fourth quarter of game 1 when Miller returned the game by scoring eight points in nine seconds.

The Pacers star drilled a triple with approximately 16 seconds, then hit another triple after stealing the incoming pass of the Knicks. After the Knicks lost a couple of free throws and an attempt to setback, Miller grabbed the rebound and subsequently received a foul.

Miller went to the free throw line, buried two free throws and gave the Pacers a 107-105 advantage.

The 1995 series, such as the 1994 confrontation, was in the seven full games, but the Pacers prevailed this time and passed to the Eastern Finals.

Larry Johnson’s 4 points play

The two teams gathered in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference of 1998, but the Pacers were strong favorites due to the injury of the Knicks star doll, Patrick Ewing. The Pacers sent the Knicks in five games.

However, at the Eastern Finals 1999, the two teams gathered again, and the Knicks were not as surpassed as the previous season.

The Knicks won the series in six games, with Johnson delivering one of the most emblematic shots in the history of the franchise in game 3.

The Pacers had an advantage of 91-88 with six remaining seconds in the game when Johnson nailed a triple and also received a foul by Antonio Davis. Johnson hit the free kick to give the Knicks a 92-91 advantage, and that score would remain when the Knicks snatched the victory of the jaws of defeat.

A shooting performance of all time

The Pacers and the Knicks played again in the Eastern Conference finals in 2000, and the Pacers surpassed the Knicks in six games, obtaining revenge for 1999.

The next time the two teams gathered in the playoffs were 2013 in the semifinals of the East Conference, with new stars involved to revive the rivalry.

The Pacers led by Paul George knocked down the Knicks led by Carmelo Anthony in six games.

The two teams would not see again in the playoffs until last season in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference. The Pacers sent a team of the Knicks that was decimated by an injury in game 7 with a historical shooting performance.

The Pacers fired an amazing 67.1% from the field in that game 7, well for a NBA playoff record, in their 130-109 victory.

The Pacers have a 5-3 series record on the Knicks in the playoffs and have a 26-22 playoff record against the Knicks.
