While presiding a meeting of the Task Force of the Provincial Poly, Sindh’s Prime Minister Murad Ali Shah highlighted the need for responsibility at all levels. He said: “Every lost child is a potential case.”
The Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, and Eoc Irshad Sodhar in charge, gave a detailed information session to the main minister on the next anti-political driving.
The polio is still a threat
The CM said that the polio continues to represent a threat that paralyzes our children. “We are making total efforts and calling the provincial task force meetings regularly to send a clear and strong message to the entire administration to launch the campaign as a mission,” he said. The Minister of Health, Dr. Azra, informed the CM that 10 cases of wild polio have been reported in Pakistan so far in 2025, including four Sindh. In addition, 11 of 35 wastewater samples collected between April 7 and April 24 gave positive by wild poliovirus, indicating the continuous circulation of the virus.
May campaign objectives
The May campaign will reach more than 10.6 million children under five years of age in 1,292 union tips in the 30 Sindh districts. The operation will be supported by more than 80,000 trained first -line workers and 25,539 application personnel, including police officers.
Address negatives
To address persistent challenges in high -risk areas, especially in Karachi, 157 doctors have been deployed to aim at 6,780 rejections due to illness. The CM directed to activate the rejection conversion committees (RCC) in the predetermined UCS.
