The General Director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, dismissed on Wednesday the claim of India of having issued a previous warning about his recent military actions, qualifying it “absurd” and reiterating that Pakistan does not depend on Indian intelligence for national security.
Speaking to the BBC, he revealed that the Director General of Military Operations of India (DGMO) had contacted Pakistan on May 7 to start the dialogue amid increasing tensions.
“We clearly told them that the dialogue could only follow an appropriate response,” said the DG ISPR. He added that after Pakistan’s reprisals, India’s military spokesman publicly announced that New Delhi did not want to increase anymore.
“We prioritize peace and love peace, but we are always ready for war, and if war is needed, then it is,” said the army spokesman.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry accredited the restriction shown by Pakistan and recalled previous examples, including US diplomatic intervention during the 2019 pulwama attack. “External actors also want to avoid another South War of Asia,” he said.
Calling the intelligence statements of India “manufactured”, said that Pakistani air defense systems detect intrusions instantly, especially when Indian drones violate their airspace. In addition, he criticized the Indian state, accusing him of being “kidnapped by a terrorist act.”
“India continues to build false narratives to justify their actions every few years,” he said.
