Islamabad:
The Coas Campo Marshal, also Munir, was honored with the ‘Campo Marshal baton’ in a special ceremony held in Aiwan-E-Sadr on Thursday.
The ceremony attended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, members of the federal cabinet, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, president of the Popular Party of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto, governors of the four provinces, main ministers and diplomats from several countries.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif jointly conferred the ‘Baston of the Marshal of the Campo’ to Coas Munir in recognition of their strategic leadership and contributions to the national defense.
The prime minister, when heading to the ceremony, said: “Today is a historical and proud day. We recognize the services of our heroes, and today’s event is part of that continuous recognition.”
He added: “Military leadership has achieved a remarkable victory against the enemy. I appreciate the leadership of the Field Marshal. Under his command, military leadership assured a historical triumph.”
In addition, he said: “Success was achieved in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos under the leadership of the Field Marshal. In addition, the field marshal plays a key role in maintaining coordination between military and political leadership.”
The Federal Cabinet had approved the promotion of Coas Munir to the Range of Marshal of Campo on Tuesday.
The decision was taken during a high -level cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, where the ministers praised the success of the Bunyanum Mésoos operation, qualifying it as a historical victory that frustrated Indian aggression and safeguarded national sovereignty.
The prime minister praised Coas Munir for demonstrating “exceptional military leadership, bravery and strategic command” and, in recognition of his brave defense of the country and the leadership that assured the sovereignty of Pakistan, the cabinet approved the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz to promote the general also mun to the field range of field seafood.
