Joint emergency operation launched after Hailstorm


Islamabad:

In response to heavy rains and hailstorm in Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI) and the Islamabad district administration have launched a joint emergency operation in the directives of the President of the CDA, the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the civil defense of DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

All field teams have immediately mobilized, with clear instructions to provide maximum relief and assistance to citizens with the best skills.

In line with the directives of President CDA, the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, together with the sanitation, the environmental wing, the building control, the Islamabad water agency, the road and maintenance wing, CDA has directed to quickly eliminate the fallen trees, the rubble and other obstructions of all the main roads in Islamabad. Efforts have been prioritized to accelerate road cleaning and restore normal traffic flow.

The staff and machinery of the wings of sanitation, environment and engineering have been deployed to eliminate blockages in drains, river routes and lower steps of the city. A special monitoring mechanism has been activated to ensure effective drainage in low areas, underground steps and key roads.

CDA and DMA, MCI and district administration officials are present in the field to supervise all operations directly. A continuous surveillance is being carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week of roads, drains and sensitive areas to address emergencies immediately.
