‘Political parties lack internal democracy’

Karachi:

The head of Jamaat-E-Isami (JI), Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, has lashed out by all the main political parties of the country, describing them as “private properties” without internal democracy.

Speaking at an event on Sunday, Naeem said there is no democracy in any political party in the country, except the JI. “If people arrive at Parliament through farm 45 or farm 47 [through rigging or genuine vote]They belong to parties that look more like private properties, “he said.

He said that calling these Democratic parties is an insult to the idea of democracy. According to the JI chief, the parties that have been governing the country enter power after promising loyalty to the United States.

“Here people are chosen as chiefs of political parties based on wills or inheritance. All these parties, both secular and religious, are administered by families.” Naeem declared that the JI is the only exception, since the party is based on a democratic system from the bottom up.

He said that political parties have no idea what the real problems of people are, what is the price of supermarket articles and how much a common man has to spend on gas and electricity invoices.
