Karachi:

The water supply has remained severely affected in different areas of the city during the last 25 days.

The demand for water has increased, but the city’s water supply is not returning to normal, which causes difficulties for citizens, who are forced to buy expensive water waiters.

The affected areas include Korangi, Landhi, Gulshan-E-Iqbal, Jamshed Road, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Dastgir, Federal B and the city of Baldia.

In addition, there was an energy breakdown at the Gharo pumping station, which, according to a Water Corporation spokesman, occurred on Saturday morning, which resulted in 30 million gallons of water that cannot be supplied to the city.

The energy supply was also suspended at the NIFUE Pumping Station for several hours, affecting the water supply in Gulshan-E-Iqbal, while the interruption of the energy supply also affected the water supply at the Nek pumping station.

In response to water problems, citizens protested in Sakhi Hassan Hydant in Central District, closing the hydrants.

The member assembly of Sindh, Jamal Ahmed, also participated in the protest, during which the protesters blocked both roads, complaining that the water supply had been interrupted in its area for several days.

Due to the protest, the Sakhi Hassan Hyrant water supply also remained suspended for several hours.
