Earlier this month, a fire broke out at Rimpa Plaza on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, causing major disruption.
The fire, which had started on the fourth floor that housed spare parts warehouses, offices, shops and a clinic, was finally extinguished after hours of efforts.
1,122 rescue teams were sent to the scene, including two ambulances, four fire trucks and a snorkel.
Poor ventilation in the building had made it difficult to extinguish the fire, but additional fire vehicles and foam helped contain the flames.
The Pakistan Navy assisted in the rescue operation and emergency water supplies were arranged. Fortunately, all occupants had been safely evacuated. MA Jinnah Road had been closed to traffic and diversions had been implemented.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had ordered immediate steps to be taken to address the situation and sought a report from the Karachi Commissionerate.
