- Video reproduction only audio is aimed at Android Automotive
- The update must reach Android Auto
- Google previously promised video applications for Android Auto
If you are an Auto Android user like me, you will know that there is currently no support for video playback. However, video applications are now on their way to software, with a useful adjustment for those moments when your vehicle is moving.
As seen by 9to5google, there is a new clip charged by Google in the Android Developers account: shows the automotive android automotive interface that changes to an audio only mode for videos while driving.
Android Automotive is the version of Android Auto that car manufacturers can incorporate into their vehicles, android are not required. This platform already supports video applications, but only when the car is parked.
Finally, these same characteristics should reach Android Auto on phones. Last week we received the news that the video players “will arrive soon” to Android Auto, so we hope that the audio reproduction is not very far.
A long time
Attend
I can understand why video applications take time to reach Android Auto, because there is a danger of distracting drivers, and with the software that runs from a phone, it is more difficult to detect when a vehicle is really moving.
However, I’m glad Google is providing support for video applications and an audio mode. As YouTube premium subscriber, I see many videos, and have access to them in my car will add much more entertainment to trips.
Even with the disabled video, I can listen to live music concerts, video explanatory, environmental music mixtures, video videos, interviews and much more. Then, when I am parked, I can also see the football reflexes.
This is only that developers are working for Android Automotive, so it can be significant while before reaching the consumption version of Android Auto, but I will wait patiently to use it as soon as it appears.
