- WhatsApp has stopped admitting a series of older Apple and Android devices

WhatsApp has officially eliminated another wave of iPhone and Android telephones, as of June 1. Therefore, if you are still using an iPhone or Android phone before 2014, it is now the time to consider the update, especially if WhatsApp is your messaging service.
As a result of the latest updates of the requirements of your operating system, WhatsApp now only admits iPhones that are executed in iOS 15.1 and UP, and the Android devices are executed on Android 5.0 and UP. As of June 1, WhatsApp does not admit the following iOS and Android models:
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6s
- Galaxy S III
- HTC One X.
- Sony Xperia Z
Some reports have also listed the iPhone 6S, the iPhone 6s Plus and the iPhone SE (1st generation), but 9to5Mac says that, as these models are executed in iOS 15.8.4, they are expected to be compatible with another year or two until the next review of the WhatsApp operating system.
WhatsApp has published details of the update in its aid center that indicates “every year we look at what devices and software are the oldest and have the least number of users. These devices may not have the latest security updates, or they could lack the necessary functionality to execute WhatsApp.”
