Rawalpindi:
The former imprisoned prime minister, Imran Khan, refused Monday to undergo a lies detector test for the fourth time and a team composed of police and members of the Punjab Forensic Sciences Agency (PFSA) returned after waiting in the Adiala de Rawalpindi jail for four hours.
An anti -terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore had allowed the police to make the text on Imran in relation to the cases presented against him and several PTI leaders after unprecedented incidents of vandalism in which dozens of army facilities were attacked on May 9 and May 10 or 2023.
According to the sources, a Lahore police investigation team led by DSP Asif Javed arrived at Adiala’s jail at 12:45 pm to carry out a polygraph test, photogrammetric and voice correspondence tests.
The members of the PFSA also were part of the research team, including inspectors Muhammad Aslam, Tasaddaq, Salem and Naveed technical expert, also, technical expert ABID Ayub.
Upon arrival, the prison authorities informed the founder of PTI, but refused for the fourth time to join the investigation. The sources said that Imran was informed that the investigation team had come with a court order, but again refused to submit to the evidence.
After Imran’s refusal to cooperate in the research process, the teams had to return after a long wait.
Previously, Imran Khan had stipulated that he would only participate in the investigation and undergo the evidence in the presence of his lawyers.
However, when the investigators returned with their present legal advisor, it provided a written response that indicates that article 13 gives it protection of being forced to become a witness against itself or help produce evidence that can be used against it.
Lahore ATC-i Manzer Ali Gill judge on May 14 allowed the police to carry out the polygraph analysis (detection and photogrammetric) voice and voice analysis) of Imran Khan in twelve cases of May 9.
The judge had ordered to complete the evidence within 12 days, saying that the Prosecutor’s Office could comply with the founder of PTI in the Adiala prison during that period.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at Lahore, PTI leaders, Salman Akram Raja and Malik Ahmed Khan, said there is no restriction in the children of Imran Khan to return to Pakistan and participate in politics.
The children of the founder of PTI, Kasim and Suleiman, have remained throughout their lives in the United Kingdom with their mother, the first wife of Imran Jemima Goldsmith
In a rare interview published on social networks on May 13, Kasim and Sulaiman talked about the supposed “Democracy suppression” in Pakistan and the lack of basic facilities for Imran Khan in their prison cell. They said that his father was in prison in “surpassed positions.”
They also urged the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and the international community to help free their father from prison, appealing to “people of influence” worldwide to press for their release. With contribution of our correspondent in Lahore
