The Punjab Cabinet has approved the first Integral Child Protection Policy of the province.
This policy developed by the Office of Child Protection and Welfare with the technical support of UNICEF Pakistan was described as a new reference point for child welfare, marking a transformative step to end violence, abuse, exploitation and negligence against children in communities.
The policy, according to the president of CPWB, serves as an integral roadmap for child protection mechanisms in Punjab. It is the culmination of the efforts that began more than two years ago with the presentation of the draft to the Department of Origin. Case management activities under the policy framework have been carried out for more than a year.
