The reason behind the attack is still clear, and the Iranian authorities have not yet issued a detailed statement on investigations.

This is the second incident this year that involves the murder of Pakistani citizens in the region.

In April, eight Pakistani citizens were brutally murdered in the same province when unidentified assailants assaulted a car workshop in Haberabad, a remote village in the district of Mehrestan, and opened fire during the night.

The eight victims, who came from the Bahawalpur district in Punjab, were used in the workshop where they carried out paint, polishing and vehicle repair work.
