A young man who was assaulted in Karachi’s defense area has told a court in the city of Metropolis that he does not want to follow the case and has forgiven the accused.
The incident, which attracted public attention after the images of the young attacked physically began to circulate widely on social networks, had led the authorities to take measures.
The victim, identified as Dhanraj, appeared before a judicial magistrate in southern Karachi on Thursday and made a brief statement.
“I was not aware that the court had summoned me,” Dhanraj told the magistrate. “My lawyer informed me today, so I came.”

The magistrate asked if Dhanraj was under pressure or coercion with respect to the case.
“No, I’m not under any pressure,” he replied. “I don’t want to present any cases. I have forgiven the defendant.”
Dhanraj also declared that he had no objections to any decision that the Court can make in the matter.
The main defendant Salman Farooqi, CEO of a record album house, was caught in the camera that managed the victim when his employees assaulted the motorcyclist after a minor collision on May 31.
The armed guard and the Farooqi driver allegedly arrested the victim at a gun, forcing him to a vehicle where he was beaten.
The motorcyclist had been collecting his sister, Kalpana, who, according to the reports, worked in a nearby beauty room. The assault occurred while preparing to leave together.
The video of the assault, which also showed that the victim’s sister was remote while she begged for an apology, caused indignation in social networks.

On Monday, Farooqi, the dishonored suspect was arrested after the raids in his residence and office. The guard and the driver had also been arrested, and the police confiscated the vehicle involved in the assault.
A FIR was recorded at the Gizri Police Station, although the victim did not file a formal complaint. The report was presented based on the testimony of eye witnesses Muhammad Salem.
The case, registered under FIR No. 25/278, included charges of criminal intimidation, assault, illegal confinement and use of obscene language in sections 506b, 354, 342 and 504/34 of the Pakistan Criminal Code.
