PTI wanted to spread the chaos, the witness testifies in ATC

Islamabad:

The key witness in the case of GHQ attack testified on Thursday at the Anti-Terrorist Court, saying that Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) was involved in the spread of hate against the military and state institutions in the country.

During the case hearing, related to the GHQ door attack on May 9, 2023, against the founder of PTI Imran Khan and others within the Adiala prison, the sub -inspector Muhammad Riaz, who was the plaintiff of the case, said that the PTI wanted to spread the chaos and anarchy in the country.

On Thursday, the witness of the prosecution, if Riaz registered his statement before the judge of ATC, Amjad Ali Shah, in the middle of the uproar created by the defense lawyers. On that, the judge issued a notice of the cause of exhibition to the defense lawyers to the Court.

If Riaz testified that the DVDs and other evidence received from the Electronic Media Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Pemra) and the Federal Research Agency (FIA) were played on a large screen at a meeting of the JUICE research team (JIT).

After seeing all the evidence, it was shown that the PTI as a party was involved in the dissemination of hatred against the army and state institutions to spread chaos and anarchy in the country. He added that the USB and DVDs related to the provocative speeches of the founder of PTI and Shehryar Afidi, and on the place and the surrounding areas, were seized in their presence.

During the hearing, the defense lawyers insisted on calling the main lawyer Salman Akram Raja to the Court. Prosecutor Zaheer Abbas Shah opposed the request, saying that Raja had not helped the Court even for a single day, but wanted to enter to draw a violent protest.

The founder of PTI had announced that he would lead the protest throughout the country from inside the prison and Raja wanted to consult with the founder of PTI to end the conspiracy against state and state institutions. Shah said that a political meeting could not take place during judicial procedures.

However, the protest of the defense lawyers continued and at one time they also warned boycotting the procedures. The ATC expressed its anger on the situation and issued notices of the cause of exhibition to the defense lawyers for contempt of the court.

Due to the protest, the statements of two more witnesses of prosecution could not be registered, the sub -inspector Salem Qureshi and Manzoor. Later, the case hearing was postponed until June 21 within the Adial prison.

During the hearing, the Jit Sp Faisal Salem coordinator also appeared in the Court, however, the investigations of SSP Rawalpindi did not appear despite the call of the Court. The judge issued notices of the SSP investigation and requested a response until June 11.

The founder of PTI, Imran Khan, was produced in the Court, while several defendants, including Sibli Faraz, Sartaj Gul, Amjad Niazi, Usman Dar and Fawad Chaudhry, appeared in court to attend with the audience
