- An iPhones list that supports iOS 19, which could be called iOS 26, has leaked
- The iPhone XR, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max can get lost
- Apple will present the software next week
Apple is expected to tell us all about its great plans for iOS 19, which can be renowned as iOS 26, next week, and a new rumor suggests that this year’s software update will leave some iPhone models behind.
According to a “very reliable” source in contact with Macrumors, the oldest phones that will admit iOS 19 are the models of the iPhone 11 and the iPhone SE 2. Those phones released in September 2019 and April 2020 respectively.
In terms of phones that can run iOS 18, but apparently they will not be able to execute their successor, we say goodbye to the iPhone XR, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. These three iPhones were announced by Apple in September 2018.
Keep in mind that Apple confirms any of this. It is also worth noting that even if those older phones are lost iOS 26, they can still obtain security updates for some time: the iPhone 8 recently received an update in March 2025, for example.
This is what is coming
In addition to the brand change from iOS 19 to iOS 26, we have heard enough rumors about the next software update for the iPhone. Apparently, the interface will be given a great review, which has actually been hinted at Apple’s own WWDC 2025 invitations.
A series of new features are expected to make an appearance in messages, music and notes, including automatic translations for messages in a foreign language, and an animated album arts for their playlists that appear on the lock screen.
There have also been leaks on a dedicated game center that extends through iPhones and other Apple devices, as well as the introduction of more the voice assistants who work with iOS, including, perhaps, Google Gemini.
All will be revealed next Monday, June 9 at the World Developer Conference of Apple (WWDC): The Annual SHOWCASE software for iOS, macOS, iPados and more. We will cover the event and all live ads, and if you want to continue, see our guide on how to see the event.
