The Field Marshal of the Philadelphia Eagles and the reigning MVP of the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts, divided fans when he chose to omit the visit of the White House to celebrate the team in April.

Hurts was one of the several Eagles players who chose not to go, along with AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Jalen Carter and Brandon Graham. But as the field marshal, the absence of Hurts obtained a particular scrutiny. Hurts told reporters on May 20 that it was not because “it was not available.”

The former Eagles Field Marshal, Donovan McNabb, who says he has advised Hurts since he arrived in Philadelphia, gave his reaction to the absence of his protected in an interview with Pak Gazette Digital. McNabb also suggested that the absence of Hurts was based on a decision.

“I have no problem with that. I agree, I totally agree with him and the decision he made is an adult man decision and stayed with that,” McNabb said. “And for him, his approach is to prepare again to return to another Super Bowl.”

McNabb added that he would have made the same decision as Hurts.

Hurts also raised his eyebrows again when he attended Gala Met The following week after missing the White House.

Even so, the vast majority of the Eagles list and the coaching staff attended the White House and celebrated with Trump, as well as the president’s daughter, Ivanka. Those players included the star corridor Saquon Barkley.

“It’s everyone’s choice,” McNabb said about the players they were. “You do not insist on anyone else’s decision than they made, it is a decision. It is a personal decision that made, both for Jalen and Saquon,” McNabb said.

“And again, after making your visit or whatever, concentrate on the task in question and see if you can have the opportunity to be invited to return to the White House.”

When the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2018, the team decided not to attend the White House. Trump rescinded the invitation to receive the Eagles after several players said they would not participate in the visit due to their criticism prior to the protests of the national anthem.

The Los Angeles Dodgers visited the White House several weeks before the Eagles did it, to commemorate their World Series title. Mookie Betts, who jumped a visit in 2019 with Boston’s red socks, attended this year.
