King Charles shot a ceremonial canyon on Friday during a visit to the Royal Artillery Regiment in Salisbury, the first as Captain General.

A statement issued by Buckingham said: “The king has visited the Royal Artillery Regiment in Larkhill, meeting with military personnel and their families of the 21 regiments that form the real regiment.”
He said: “His Majesty also learned about the training and regiment team, before being invited to shoot a light gun L118 himself!”

The statement said that the Royal Artillery Regiment was founded in 1716 and it is believed that it served in each conflict with which the British army has been involved.
To commemorate the king’s first visit as Captain General, a 105 mm recorded cartridge was presented that was fired during his coronation as a gift from the Royal Regiment.
