The confrontation between sovereignty and journalism in Belmont Stakes during the weekend brought an increase in the audience, Fox Sports announced on Tuesday.
Fox and FS1 saw 3,831,000 spectators tune in the race. Fox Sports said it was a 5% increase compared to last year. The company added that the audience reached its maximum point at 5 million viewers between 7 pm and 7:15 pm et.

Fox Sports said Belmont Stakes was the most watched sporting event on Saturday. The horsepower had a lot of competition, including the final of the female France Open, the WNBA game between Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, several baseball clashes and wrestling events.

Journalism was the favorite to win after leaving a victory at the Preakness. Journalism simply lost winning the Kentucky derby.
The race will definitely leave fans of horse racing wondering “what would happen if” after sovereignty retired from preakness. There have only been a handful of horses to win the triple crown.
