The president of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has urged India to return to the negotiating table, warning that the continuous avoidance of dialogue would only damage regional peace and the interests of India.

“All pending problems between Pakistan and India can only be solved through the integral dialogue,” he said. “If India does not come to the table, it will not be in your favor.”

Speaking in an interview with the German radio station DW Urdu during a visit to Brussels on Sunday, the former Foreign Minister warned that any attempt to block the Pakistan water supply would be seen as an existential threat, leaving Pakistan without choice but war.

Bilawal, who leads a parliamentary delegation to the West, also urged the international community one day before to take India to the table to discuss and play his role in the guarantee of a lasting peace in southern Asia, including the resolution of the long background dispute, the problems of water and terrorism, through a compound dialogue, which said that India was not to pursue.

“Such actions represent an existential threat to Pakistan, water is our life line, and we will never give up our legitimate participation under any circumstance,” he said.

He described India’s threats to cut the water as a “clear violation of the United Nations Charter” and a “violation of the Water Indo Treaty”, calling him the “red line” of Pakistan. “If India uses water aggression, Pakistan will have no choice but war,” he said.

The president of the PPP emphasized that, although Pakistan does not seek war, he will not commit to his national security or water rights.

“Despite India’s participation in supporting terrorist activities within Pakistan, we have never advocated war in response to terrorism,” he added.

Bilawal reiterated that while Pakistan continues to advocate for peace, problems such as water security are not negotiable.

After the high fire with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Bilawal to lead a high -level delegation responsible for presenting the “case of Pakistan’s peace” about the recent Indian aggression to the international community.

The Committee aims to interact with global leaders and institutions to raise awareness about the actions of India and Pakistan’s concerns regarding the treaty of the Indo’s waters. The government has also planned to send additional delegations to other countries as part of a broader diplomatic scope.
