In a statement issued on the International Day of Family Remittances, he said that the Government continues to work tirelessly to attract direct foreign investments and expand the export base to guarantee long -term economic stability.
On this trip, he said, remittances have played a crucial role, significantly strengthening our foreign exchange reserves. According to the prime minister, the remittances of the Pakistani abroad have always been a cornerstone of our national economy.
“With more than 9 million Pakistani living abroad, mainly in the Gulf, Europe, North America and other places.
“Our diaspora remains deeply related to its roots. Its financial contributions are not only an expression of love and responsibility for their families, but also a powerful pillar that supports Pakistan’s economic resilience,” he added.
He pointed out that in the current fiscal year, foreign compatriots sent a record of $ 34.9 billion, marking an increase of 28.8% compared to the previous year. Only in May 2025, the country received $ 3.7 billion in remittances, reflecting a 13.7% increase over May of the previous year.
“These historical figures are a testimony not only of the hard work and loyalty of our diaspora, but also of their growing confidence in the government’s economic policies.”
He said that this trust reinforces the government’s resolution to redouble efforts for the rebirth and growth of our economy. “We renew our collective promise to work hand in hand with our diaspora, development partners and all interested parties to overcome our economic challenges and mark the beginning of a new era of investment, prosperity and national progress,” he said.
