The iPhone 17 could have to share space with an unexpected upstart when it is inevitably launched in September: the T1 Trump Mobile phone. And instead of pink gold, the T1 will naturally arrive a pure gold color finish.
Yes, Trump Mobile T1 phone is official. The device was launched today, together with the Trump mobile carriers service, and we have a million questions.
As? Well, why do we need a new carrier in the USA. UU., Offering an unlimited service of $ 47.45 per month? There are more affordable plans of Verizon, Mint Mobile and others already.
On the other hand, you may want this Android phone, which is a curiosity of a device, combining aging and new technology in a $ 499 package that does not seem to break the new land on existing flagships.
Here are all peculiarities (marketed as benefits) of this Trumpian phone.
It has a past port
Even as most modern smartphones, Android and iPhone, have ruled out the 3.5 mm headphone connector, the 6.7 -inch T1 is returning to a 5G phone. It is not known if the phone will also be sent with a cable headphones set.
It can be updated
256 GB of storage to start is not bad, but I am surprised to see that the T1 will also be sent with a memory card slot to update. That is unusual and some of the old school. It can mean that the back comes out, and then that large battery could appear. It could also be a memory card slot in the chassis.
If that is the case, tell me more about your IP rating. Can this phone handle a dump in a gold bath?
Has a mysterious processor
While we have some details about the T1, such as its 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, there is no information about the mobile processor. From now on, few new mobile processors are being made in the US. The company, according to reports, has already been building some A16 chips for Apple.
Even so, putting $ 100 to ensure an anticipated order on a phone that is doing a mystery of performance seems risky at best.
Only Android 15 will have
There is nothing wrong with Android 15. I am currently executing it in my excellent Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, for September, we would expect many upper phones to execute Android 16.
In fact, Google Pixels has access to Android 16 now, and we hope that Samsung devices get access in next month or two. Other phones, including those of OnePlus and Oppo, can obtain the Beta Android 16 at this time.
If Trump Mobile wants to play in this game, he can’t arrive with last year’s platform. People like their smartphones living on the bleeding edge.
Has no (much) ai
In the era of all, launching a new smartphone, or really any consumer electronics, which does not have the center is deaf technological marketing.
The list of specifications T1 lists the unlocking of AI’s face, I have no idea what that is, and that is.
Naturally, without knowing the central processor, it is difficult to know what the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) could be, if it exists. Can you imagine a new smartphone that enters this market without generative capabilities?
Seriously, being ‘gold’ is not a characteristic.
It has a low -resolution macro camera
The T1 seems to offer a solid main chamber (50MP) and a well distributed selfie camera (16MP). But the 2MP macro confuses me. That is something that OnePlus tried years ago, and results in a macro photograph first but incredibly low resolution and muddy. It is almost not worth having.
And the inclusion of a depth chamber of 2MP is not explained. Is that for augmented reality (AR)? Probably not, because the resolution is too low to produce a decent 3D map. Maybe it’s focus assistance technology. If so, it is better to say that.
Has a large battery
A $ 499 smartphone with a 5,000 mAh battery is an anomaly, and should be good news, assuming that it is of high quality and is not prone to a quick drain or any problem that may cause swelling.
The point is that a $ 499 phone can have cheaper components, but a large battery is a place that cannot be allowed to spare.
I am also intrigued to include a fast 20W “PD” charge (energy delivery). This is an advantage if the phone is also sent with a 20W load adapter.
Has an uncertain design
You cannot look at the T1 phone without realizing the camera matrix and the strange space between lenses. First, why are there three size lenses also when two of them are only 2MP? Second, why are they spaced so far?
It is not a good look and makes me wonder if the image T1 is just a position score since they finish the design.
Speaking of design, Trump Mobile lists the T1 as a 6.8 -inch phone with a 6.78 -inch AMOLED screen, but the phone looks very high and thin, as if it could have an odd appearance ratio of 21:10.
There are no dimensions on the list (I am still not knowing), which means that the design with a large spoonful of golden salt must be taken.
Will be born in the United States … maybe
Trump Mobile states that T1 is “made in the United States”, but I suppose this is more an aspiration than a reality.
Suppose the phone will meet here in the United States. It is a great assumption, but I am willing to consider it. Most components will still come from outside the United States. Even if the CPU is finally manufactured in Arizona, cell radio chips, GPS, AMOLED screen technology, cameras and more will come from outside the country.
I will be interested in seeing how much transparency we have on that forehead if this phone arrives in September.
It’s a Trump family thing
It is a Trump Mobile T1 8002 phone, but no one mentions President Donald Trump.
On the other hand, the company was announced in a YouTube video by its children Don Jr. and Eric, who run many of Trump’s companies, including a cryptographic business.
So, it is a Trump phone but not officially a device by President Trump, but with the entire essence of the current president of the United States.
