Nawaz operates from peripheries

LAHORE:

The president of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, once the political reins are expected to claim in his publicized return before the general elections, remains significantly on the periphery.

Despite a PML-N government full right to the rudder, Nawaz has chosen to stay behind the curtain, largely ignoring national problems on fire, including Baluchistan.

The three times former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan in 2023 after a self -imposed exile of five years in London, widely seen as an offer calculated to avoid jail, has maintained a low profile, led by the political empire despite the fact that his party formed the government.

Many see this withdrawal as part of the quiet pact of the PML-N with the establishment, a commitment to recover the reins of power without balance the boat.

However, within the rows of parties, it is growing that the prolonged absence of Nawaz rudder, despite being considered the ideological glue that keeps the base of the PML-N together, could be expensive if the political field of political play was once really level.

Once the indisputable Lodestar of the game, Nawaz has now retreated in the background to the point that it lacks even a designated spokesman, becoming one of the most elusive figures for local media.

According to media reports, Nawaz was expected to return to Pakistan this Thursday. But when the Express PAkGazette contacted two party leaders, none had an idea of their travel itinerary.

The usual support of the party, the Nawaz brand as the “guide force” behind the central decisions, has begun to use thin. He was even recently failed when Punjab Minister of Information, Azma Bukhari, accredited Nawaz for “supervising the planning and execution of the war,” which caused the ridiculous and made it the rear of the jokes.

Interestingly, Nawaz has not spoken with local media since he returned to Pakistan. However, during his frequent trips to London, he seems more at ease, freely committing to journalists based there.

A main leader of the Punjab party told The Express PAkGazette that the PML-N was increasingly giving the political space to the establishment, an approach that he warned would have serious consequences in the future. “Now we can enjoy setting up the bushes of the establishment, but tomorrow, when I change the command, we will feel the heat of our mistakes,” he said.

The leader emphasized that Nawaz Sharif must re -enter the political fray to keep the party alive. “At this stage, the PML-N is caught between two administrators, Maryam and Nawaz. Both lack political maturity. All in the party know their real value.”

“We shudder to think about the day the establishment abandons us. We don’t have a viable narrative to reach the people of Punjab.”
