In a tragic incident, the renowned actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in the Karachi Gulshan-E-Iqbal area.
Confirming the report, the police said the body seemed to have about a week, and added that the actress lived alone in the apartment.
The incident came to light when Ayesha’s neighbors informed their family about a bad smell that emitted their apartment. After being informed, the police hurried to the scene and transferred their body to the Jinnah postgraduate medical center for legal medical formalities.
Later, his body was changed from JPMC to the Morgue of the Edhi Foundation in Sohrab Goth. Police said Ayesha’s post Mortem exam would be held at the request of her family.
The time and place of its funeral prayers will be announced later.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ayesha played the memorable characters in some of the most iconic Pakistan television works such as Afshan, Uroosa, Aanch, Bandhan and Shaam Pehle.
Born in 1948, Ayesha was the older sister of actress Khalida Riasat.
One of her most memorable roles was in Afshan, in which she played a afflicted woman whose husband and brother had to flee from the country during the partition due to security reasons. She breeds her son and her brother Afshan’s daughter while waiting for her husband’s return.
When commenting on his disappearance, the president of the Council of the Arts of Pakistan, Ahmed Shah, said he acted for more than 50 years and his death was a great loss for the country’s drama scene.
