Rubio praises the regional peace efforts of Pakistan in the call with Prime Minister Shehbaz

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a phone call from the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, on Friday, during which both parties discussed a wide range of regional and global problems in what was described as a cordial and friendly atmosphere.

According to a statement issued by the office of the Prime Minister, the prime minister stressed that Iran-Israel’s crisis could only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to play a constructive role in all peace efforts in the midst of a situation that raises serious concerns not only for the region but also for the world in general.

Prime Minister Shehbaz transmitted his best wishes for US President Donald Trump and praised his brave leadership. He also appreciated Rubio’s active diplomacy, particularly his role in facilitating the high fire agreement between Pakistan and India.

Highlighting Trump’s positive statements about Pakistan, the prime minister called them encouraging steps towards long -term peace in southern Asia. He stressed that sustainable peace could only be achieved through significant dialogue between Pakistan and India.

In this context, he reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to participate in conversations with India on all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, the Treaty of the Water of the Indo, trade and anti -terrorist cooperation.

The situation in the Middle East also appeared prominently in the discussion. Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated that the only viable solution lies in the Pacific dialogue and diplomatic commitment. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s will to play a constructive role in tensions.

On economic matters, he referred to Trump’s interest in strengthening bilateral trade and expressed Pakistan’s desire to expand cooperation with the United States in key sectors such as trade, investment, energy, minerals, rare earth elements and information technology.

By reaffirming Pakistan’s determination to eradicate terrorism, the prime minister spoke about the ongoing efforts to eliminate the threat raised by extremist groups such as the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BL), Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and others.

In response, Rubio appreciated the anti -terrorist efforts of Pakistan and assured the total support of the United States in this regard.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed his satisfaction with the result of the recent meeting between Trump and the head of the Army Field Field, also Munir, in Washington, described him as pleasant and productive.

Both parties agreed to translate recent progress in bilateral dialogue to specific practical cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the importance of maintaining high -level contacts and extended a renewed invitation to Trump to make an official visit to Pakistan. He expressed anxiety to meet soon with the president of the United States and invited Rubio to visit Pakistan in the near future as well.

Finally, the United States Secretary of State thanked Prime Minister for attending to his call and expressed the strong desire of the United States to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of shared interest.

He also recognized Pakistan’s continuous efforts to keep the fire with India and play a positive role in promoting peace, particularly given his strong relations with Iran.

Rubio emphasized that the United States is still committed to work closely with Pakistan to promote regional and global peace and stability.
