CM wants to beautify Punjab cities

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed district administrations to develop green belts around underpasses and under flyover bridges in major cities of the province.

Chairing a briefing on the performance of Rawalpindi division as per key performance indicators (KPIs), he also directed them to beautify bridges and underpasses in all cities.

In addition to improving public affairs, special attention should be paid to beautifying cities, he added.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered installation of ‘cat eyes’ along zebra crossings on roads in front of educational institutions.

She directed district administrations to improve monitoring of development projects, cleanliness and prices of essential commodities.

The Prime Minister ordered the placement of plastic covers in the sewers.

He ordered the elimination of the encroachments permanently. He said people should see a clear improvement in governance.

The prime minister said: “The number of model cart markets should be increased in big cities.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said potholes should not be seen on the roads.

He also said that cleaning of drains in Murree should be carried out continuously and welcome signs should be installed at the entrances of the city.

He appreciated the establishment of a library and a World War I memorial at Chakwal.

The CM congratulated the concerned deputy commissioner for the construction of autism classrooms at the Murree Special Education School.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized in her message on the occasion of International Day of Human Solidarity: “Establishing solidarity, compassion and equality is the foundation of a better and peaceful society.”

And he added: “Only through human solidarity can poverty, injustice and social inequality be eliminated.”

The chief minister said, “The Punjab government follows the principles of humanitarian service. All policies and projects of the Punjab government are dedicated to serving humanity and the welfare of the weaker sections.”

He said: “We are promoting the principles of solidarity, brotherhood and social justice by including all segments of society in the stream of development.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said: “We are working day and night to create a society where everyone has equal opportunities.”

He appealed to citizens to play their role in serving humanity beyond color, race, religion and nation.

Through another statement, the Prime Minister congratulated the Pakistan cricket team for winning an ODI series against South Africa.

“The brilliant victory in the ODI series against South Africa is a moment of joy and pride for the entire nation,” he said. He added: “The determination, hard work and unity shown by the Green Team is commendable. Hopefully, the national cricket team will continue its winning streak.”
