Coinbase wins the European Mica license in Luxembourg

Crypto Exchange Coinbase has won a European Union market in the Luxembourg crypto (Mica) license, said the company in a statement on Friday.

The exchange, which is the fifth largest cryptographic exchange by volume according to Coingcko, can now offer services in the 30 nations in the European economic area.

It joins other important exchanges that have secured the Mica license. Bybit, the second largest exchange obtained its Austrian Mica license in May, while OKX and Crypto.com obtained their Mica de Malta licenses.

Although the EU MICA license gives companies access to all the nations of the European Union, Liechtenstein and Norway, the blocks of the block have still competing for attracting the main cryptographic companies.

“Luxembourg has always been a key player in the financial ecosystem of Europe, and we are delighted to share that Coinbase is officially establishing its European encryption center in this dynamic country, under the markets in the regulatory framework (Mica) of cryptographic assets,” Coinbase said in his statement.

Luxembourg has approved four policies related to blockchain through the national legislature, Coinbase said.
