Ron Washington is a baseball lifeguard, but some recent health concerns will force the Los Angeles Angels manager to take some time out of the game.
The general manager of Los Angels, Perry Minasian, announced plans for Washington to move away indefinitely.
“We all know the important [baseball] It is, but certain things are bigger than baseball, and health is obviously first and foremost, “said Minasian in a statement on Friday.
Ray Montgomery, the Bank of the team coach, will handle the managerial tasks for the Los Angelainos game against the Houston stars on Friday night.

Washington, 73, experienced difficulty breathing and seemed fatigued towards the end of a series of four games against the New York Yankees. He was authorized by the doctors of the Yankees to fly home with the team on Thursday night and underwent a series of medical tests on Friday.

The Angels did not specify which symptoms was experiencing Washington, but said the manager went to the team at the Club house together with Mining Friday. Washington planned to see the game from the GM Angel Stadium suite. Washington was not made available to the media.

“Wash hasn’t felt good in recent days,” said Minasian. “We want to make sure it is 100% before I return to the bench and to drive. How long will you take, I don’t know. I don’t hope it is too long.
“We all know how important this is for all of us, but health is more important than anything else, and, personally, I do not stop returning in the shelter until I know that it is 100%. Ok? I love the boy too much.”

Washington, who directed the Texas Rangers to the World Series consecutive in 2010 and 2011, was hired by Minasian before a 2024 season in which the Angels lost a franchise record 99 games.
The Angels entered the game on Friday night with 36-38, 6½ games behind the stars in the West al. The Angels have 15-6 in games of a race, a winning percentage of .714 larger than .714 and 5-0 in additional entries.
