- Google’s new live search function allows users to celebrate real -time voice conversations with a search version with AI with AI
- AI with Gemini tries to simulate a friendly and knowledgeable human.
- Google is anxious for all roads to lead to Gemini, and Search Live could help attract people to try AI’s partner without realizing
Google’s search to incorporate its Gemini in everything has a new output linked to its most central product. The new search on Google Search Live essentially gives Google Search mode an engine voice of Gemini.
It is currently available for users in the USA. Through the Google application in iOS and Android, and invites you to literally talk to your search bar. You speak and speak; Unlike half AI attendees of yesteryear, he does not stop listening after a single question. He is a complete dialogue partner, unlike the nonverbal mode.
It also works in the background, which means that I could leave the application during the chat to do something else on my phone, and the audio did not pause or fail. He simply moved on, as if he were talking on the phone with someone.
Google refers to this system as “Fan-Out of Consultation”, which means that, instead of answering your question, related consultations also silence, attracting more diverse sources and perspectives. You feel it too. The answers do not feel locked in a single form of response, even in relatively simple consultations such as the one that approaches linen dresses in Google’s demonstration.

Ai Search Live
To test the live search, I took advantage of the “live” icon and requested speculative fiction books that I should read this summer. The great voice offered some classic and some more recent options. Then I opened Pandora’s box asking him about his own favorites. Surprisingly, he had some. Then I decided to press it a bit and say it was wrong about the best fantasy books and listed some of mine. Suddenly, I found myself in a debate not only about the best examples of the genre, but also about how to define it.
We suggest from there with philosophical and historical opinions about Elish empathy and if AI should be compared with mythical geniuses or brownies that do domestic tasks in exchange for cream. If it were not for the soft and synthetic voice and its good relentless joy, I could have thought that I was actually having an idle argument with an important knowledge.
Obviously it is very different from Google’s classic search and its link wall. If you look at the screen, see the links, but the approach is in the talk. Google is not unique with a vocal version of its AI, since Chatgpt and others offer similar characteristics. Google Search Live comes out as softer, and I didn’t have to reformulate my questions or repeat me once in 10 minutes. Being integrated with Royal Google search systems could help keep things punished. It’s like talking to someone who always has a dating battery in your back pocket.
I don’t think Search Live is what people will use to replace their usual online search methods, but here is a real accessibility benefit. For people who cannot write or see comfortably, voice tools first like this open new doors. The same goes for children who ask the task questions, or for someone who cooks dinner who has a random question but does not want to stop to clean the screen flour.
There is compensation, of course, in terms of how people sail on the web. If this type of conversational becomes the dominant interface for Google search, what happens to web traffic? The editors already feel that they are shouting in a vacuum when their content is spared by AI and hiring lawyers to fight him. What will AI look for if its sources shrink or disappear? It is a complicated question, worthy of debate. I will have to see how Search Live presents the arguments.
